Objective : The purpose of the study is to identify the relationship among job insecurity, job stress, and turnover intention of long-term care hospital employees in order to improve their work environment.
Methods : The data were collected through an online survey of employees of long-term care hospitals in Seoul Metropolitan City and Gyeonggi Province. The study conducted frequency analyses to identify the general characteristics of the sample group; additionally, the research conducted exploratory factor analysis to purify the measurement variables, and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to confirm the reliability and validity of the research model. Moreover, the study conducted structural equation modeling to examine the relationship among the study variables.
Results : The results of the structural modeling showed job insecurity had a statistically positive influence on both job stress(¥â=0.716, p<0.001) and turnover intention(¥â=0.432, p<0.001). In addition, job stress had a statistically positive influence on turnover intention(¥â=0.471, p<0.001).
Conclusion : It is necessary to develop a working environment that can guarantee stable employment and minimize job stress; it is also necessary to implement a program that relieve job stress in order to lower the turnover intention of long-term care hospital employees.
